Dave is a classically trained vocalist who continually insists on trying to be a rock singer. He is the bassist and harmonica player, and is as comfortable with Mozart as he is with Muddy Waters. He has been paired with BackBeat keyboardist Steve Callahan in bands for the last 30 years. He is truly a legend in his own mind.

Clinical psychologist by day, latent rock ‘n roll star by night, Steven has an extensive musical background. He initially was influenced by the music of the Beatles, the Who, and the Hollies, but has come to equally enjoy the music of these groups’ successors. Steven has played keyboards and provided vocals in a number of prominent rock ‘n roll groups and in a variety of theater performances over the years in the Houston area. In his spare time, he looks for underlying psychological meanings in song lyrics.

Nneji has had a life long passion for music, which has resulted in her writing, co-producing and releasing two CDs; Not What’s Expected and A Walk in the Park. Now that she is part of this awesome cover band, Nneji has the opportunity to broaden her musical experience to include live performance. She really enjoys the privilege of singing to a live audience and working with the multi-talented musicians and singers that make up BackBeat.

Not only is William the President of an Access Control and Locksmith company, a Real Estate Agent, and an Inventor, but you can also find him playing drums for several different churches in the greater Houston area and with the Mason Granade Band in Monroe Louisiana (when not drumming for BackBeat, that is!). William is an accomplished ASCAP artist with 3 CDs and an EP to his credit. Although he may not be a fashion giant (yet!), Alison and Rob are doing their level best to teach him how to look like a musician.

When not wearing a tie and acting presentable as a physician on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Rob is slinging a guitar. Instead of singing the praises of kids as a pediatrician, he is singing to anyone who will listen. Rob has played in many bands and worked in the studio both as musician and engineer. Despite this, the other members of Backbeat were willing to give him another chance...

To the never-ending delight of her parents, siblings, cousins, friends,
neighbors and acquaintances, Alison has been singing and dancing from the
time she could stand up and open her mouth. To make amends, as an adult she has allied herself with the extremely talented and tried to learn a thing or
two. She has found rock percussion to be a surprisingly expressive art
form, and pretty much thinks that that any song without AT LEAST a tambourine part is "just plain boring!"
